1. Introduction The 13th Plantation Visit of Rifah Planters Arehalli was held on 12 September 2026, with the objective of providing members an opportunity to visit a well-maintained plantation, observe successful coffee and pepper cultivation practices, and gain practical knowledge about crop management, pest and disease control, harvesting, and emerging opportunities in specialty coffee and coffee tourism. The visit brought together members for a valuable field-based learning experience, encouraging the exchange of ideas and the sharing of practical knowledge among planters.
2. Inauguration and Welcome The program commenced exactly at 10:30 a.m. and was chaired by President Mr. Nauman Adil. The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Tabrez, who welcomed the members and participants and set the tone for the day’s plantation visit and learning activities.
3. Visit to P. Bashir’s Estate At approximately 11:00 a.m., the members visited P. Bashir’s estate, where they interacted with the estate owner and President Nauman Adil. The members were highly impressed by the outstanding condition of both the coffee and pepper plantations. The estate served as an excellent example of systematic cultivation, timely agricultural operations, and proper nutrient management.
4. Cultivation Practices and Technical Interaction The estate owner explained several important practices followed in the plantation. The members learned that: • Additional micronutrients are applied through both soil application and foliar spraying, based on the plantation’s requirements. • Crop-related activities are carried out in a timely and systematic manner. • Regular attention to plantation operations plays an important role in maintaining crop health and productivity. • Proper planning and timely execution of agricultural practices contribute significantly to achieving good
5.Technical Session and Question-and-Answer Program Following the plantation visits, a technical session and Question-and-Answer program was conducted on important coffee plantation-related topics. The session was conducted with the participation of: • Mr. Nauman Adil – President • Mr. Abdullah Rizwan – Secretary • Mr. Muhammad Shafi – Resource Person The members actively interacted with the panel and raised questions concerning pest control, disease management, harvesting practices, timely crop-related operations, and practical methods to improve crop health and productivity.
6. Address by the Guest of Honour Later, Guest of Honour Mr. Syed Mumtaz Mansuri addressed the gathering. He spoke about the importance and potential of specialty coffee and coffee tourism, highlighting opportunities for planters to explore value addition, improve the identity and quality of their produce, and recognize the broader possibilities within the coffee sector. His address added an important perspective to the plantation visit by connecting traditional plantation practices with emerging opportunities in the coffee industry
